Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Senior Large Format Production Artist at Direct Edge, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and enhancement of files intended for large format printing. Your responsibilities will encompass verifying the precision and quality of designs prior to printing, modifying files to align with printing standards, and overseeing the quality assurance process. You will work closely with the production team to refine workflows and create press layouts suitable for various machinery and materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform essential pre-flighting tasks to ensure files are accurately prepared.
  • Modify original files (primarily using Adobe Illustrator) to meet printing standards, client specifications, machine constraints, and production needs.
  • Oversee the quality assurance of artwork before it is sent to print.
  • Contribute to the planning of workflow and process enhancements.
  • Create press layouts tailored for different machines and substrates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in pre-flighting, file preparation, composition, imposition, layout design, proofing, and general troubleshooting.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite v4+ (including Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with large format printing technologies (both roll and flatbed), roll laminators, and two-axis digital cutters.
  • Strong understanding of digital, offset, and variable data printing methodologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a keen eye for content quality.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable, diligent, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Esko iCut-Layout and Colorgate RIP software is a plus.

Compensation Details

The compensation for this full-time position is set at $29.00 per hour, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation ranges are influenced by various factors, including the specific role, individual experience, and geographical location. The displayed pay range represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
