Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the scheduling of surgical procedures for patients following their consultations with physicians.
  • Ensure timely completion of FMLA documentation and collection of associated fees.
  • Coordinate follow-up appointments post-surgery.
  • Facilitate the collection of copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses from patients prior to their procedures.
  • Communicate with healthcare facilities to confirm availability for surgeries.
  • Collaborate with all necessary parties involved in the surgical process, including anesthesiologists.
  • Secure necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
  • Confirm surgical details with patients, including timing and location.
  • Assist patients with hospital registration and pre-surgical testing requirements.
  • Input patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system from physician consultations and hospital documentation.
  • Maintain an organized approach to assigned tasks.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years in medical surgery scheduling within a clinical environment, with a preference for familiarity with medical terminology.

Physical Requirements: Role necessitates dexterity for phone operations, prolonged periods of sitting, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining focus and energy.
