Job Description

Empower Rental Group is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the Byron, GA location.

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for preparing rental equipment for delivery, making necessary modifications and repairs, and cleaning units before delivery. You will also repair and clean equipment upon return from customer sites and complete service calls on units currently located at customer sites as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with loading and unloading fleet orders.
  • Clean equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Make notes on rental tags.
  • Assist other mechanics with tasks such as lifting or moving heavy objects.
  • Perform minor diagnosis of issues with fleet equipment.
  • Clean up the yard and shop area daily.
  • Perform repairs on small fleet equipment.
  • Diagnose simple issues with heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Complete simple repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Complete basic rent-ready checkouts.
  • Inspect equipment for general safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or repair.
  • Valid DOT medical certification card.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive company vehicles.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Achieves quality standards.
  • Must have own basic tools.
