About the Role

Kettering Health Network is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Core Laboratory team in Dayton. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing accurate testing, reporting results, and maintaining quality control.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, coagulation, and chemistry.
  • Report test results accurately and in a timely manner, using computer systems and written reports.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities, including instrument checks and calibration.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration, and identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and leadership to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • MT/MLS (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) certification, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP categorical certification in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Experience in a Core Laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems and computer applications.
