Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at the University of Vermont Medical Center. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technology.

Job Summary

The Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist will perform a variety of routine and complex imaging procedures using high-frequency sound waves to diagnose and treat medical conditions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasounds and other required modalities within individual department(s)
  • Adjust the ultrasound machine to obtain high-quality images and customize the examination to each patient's needs
  • Recognize and diagnose pathology, and obtain extra images as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of a certified CAAHEP school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or a two-year allied health equivalent
  • Must be ARDMS registered with an ABD or OB/GYN credential
  • One to five years of paid scanning experience
