Job Title: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Inova Health System. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies. You will accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, review patient medical records, and position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
- Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
- Position patients for accurate ultrasound procedures.
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate.
- Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements:
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS).
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS.
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education and Experience:
- Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
- No experience required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
- Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
