Job Overview

Position Title: After School Care Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Auxiliary Operations

Classification: Non-Exempt, Part-Time, 10 Month Position

Role Summary: The After School Care Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the after school care program, collaborating with the After School Care Staff to ensure a safe and engaging environment for students enrolled in various programs. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s development and learning in a structured setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of engaging programs and activities for students in the after school care setting.
  • Manage daily and weekly schedules for after school staff under the guidance of the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
  • Oversee student behavior management, ensuring a positive atmosphere in collaboration with the Director of Auxiliary Operations.
  • Supervise daily activities of students in the after school program, ensuring adherence to safety and care standards.
  • Support the Director of Auxiliary Operations in the management and operation of the CampBrain digital platform.
  • Collaborate with fellow after school employees to promote effective program operations.
  • Engage with parents and classroom teachers to enhance student experiences in the after school program.
  • Provide academic support to students, assisting with homework and educational needs.
  • Attend required meetings and events to stay informed and engaged with the school community.

  • A sense of humor is appreciated.

Working Conditions: This role involves supervising students in various settings, both indoors and outdoors. Staff are expected to participate in safety drills and be prepared to respond to health-related needs of students.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to assist young children with basic needs and be physically capable of moving quickly and lifting up to 50 pounds.
