Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the confidentiality of all children, families, and staff members.
  • Organize age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors to enhance social, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development.
  • Prepare nutritious snacks for children during designated times.
  • Assist classroom teachers in executing the established curriculum effectively.
  • Utilize available resources to create a conducive learning environment tailored to the developmental stages and interests of each child.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy space for all children, including maintaining cleanliness of toys and materials.
  • Provide constant visual supervision of children to ensure their safety.
  • Cover for staff breaks and planning periods as needed.
  • Implement disciplinary practices that encourage positive behavior among children.
  • Foster open and friendly communication with staff, volunteers, and parents.
  • Engage in staff meetings and required training sessions, which may occasionally include evenings or weekends.

Requirements:

  • Alignment with Emmanuel Faith Community Church's Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values.
  • Minimum requirement: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred: At least 12 semester units in child development or early childhood education.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and a passion for preschool education are essential.
  • Completion of a physical examination with clearance for early childhood classroom work, along with a negative TB test and proof of immunizations.
  • Successful completion of CDSS Mandated Reporter Certification and Pesticide Certification.
  • Agreement to undergo a background check and fingerprinting as per state regulations.

Classification: Full-Time Exempt

Reports To: Preschool Director

Direct Reports: Partner Teacher

Time Commitment: On-call as needed for various events and activities.
