Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and executing advanced repairs and maintenance on vehicles, conducting emissions testing (where applicable), managing vehicle movement, overseeing inventory, documenting repairs, and utilizing computer systems effectively.

  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various makes and models within DriveTime's inventory.
  • Communicate automotive repairs and issues to management to reduce re-work and production delays.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all work performed in DriveTime systems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold the highest safety and compliance standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in automotive repairs is essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic automotive issues.
  • Strong communication skills to explain causes and recommended solutions for vehicle problems.
  • Capability to meet performance metrics.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Organizational skills and punctuality are a must.

Requirements

  • A certificate or associate's degree in automotive technology or equivalent work experience (3 years or more) in automotive repair.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements outlined are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.   • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently; most lifting occurs from knee to shoulder height; additional lifting may be required from various levels.
  • Capability to carry and transport up to 60 pounds over distances of up to 20 feet.
  • Requires standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet, with potential fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary.
  • Use of safety equipment, including but not limited to face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective gear is required.
  • Some driving and frequent typing are part of the job duties.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
