As an Asphalt Laborer, you will play a critical role in assisting our crew with paving roads and highways, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shovel, rake, and compact materials at road construction projects, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Stand for extended periods, performing manual labor in hot weather conditions, while maintaining a high level of physical fitness.
  • Walk alongside the paver to shovel and rake areas of asphalt that require leveling, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
  • Work safely near traveled roadways and live traffic lanes, following all necessary precautions and guidelines.
  • Load, unload, and properly clean tools and equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist other team members in various areas of the road project, demonstrating a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Move and deliver tools, equipment, and materials to locations throughout the job site, ensuring timely and efficient project execution.
  • Effectively follow directions from the Foreman regarding daily tasks and expectations for specific project sites or job sites.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance in a flexible work schedule, adapting to changing project needs and deadlines.
  • Properly follow and promote all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Adhere to strict safety requirements and procedures at all times, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Be available to travel and work at multiple construction sites within your geographic region, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including operating equipment, while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. regularly, demonstrating physical strength and endurance.
  • Work with a shovel or rake for extended periods, handling materials that weigh between 10 lbs. and 30 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Perform various physical motions, including stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting, while maintaining a high level of physical fitness.
  • Climb up onto and down off of equipment on a regular basis, using hand and footholds to mount and dismount safely.
  • Operate directional, speed, and operational controls on equipment, using levers, switches, and steering wheels to navigate safely.
  • Perform a variety of other tasks as needed, such as flagging traffic, operating a vibratory tamp, or using hand tools and equipment, while maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
