About the Facility: Hillcrest Hospital is a prominent tertiary care institution and a Level 2 Trauma Center, recognized for its outstanding healthcare services both regionally and statewide.
Role Overview: As an Anesthesiologist Assistant, you will administer anesthesia to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during surgical procedures. You will monitor patients' responses to anesthetics and promptly inform the supervising physician of any complications. Additionally, you will implement emergency measures as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations.
- Collaborate with supervising anesthesiologists to discuss findings and formulate anesthetic plans.
- Prepare and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems prior to procedures.
- Administer necessary blood products and supportive fluids.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
- Current and valid registration certificate.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) are mandatory.
Skills and Experience:
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment capabilities are essential.
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.
- No prior experience is required for this position.
Physical Demands:
- Must possess full body mobility, including the ability to lift and maneuver patients.
- Extended periods of standing and walking are required.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds and pushing/pulling carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Vision and hearing must be within normal ranges.
- Willingness to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Protective Measures: Adherence to Standard Precautions and the use of personal protective equipment is required during procedures.
