The Registered Nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process, adhering to the established scope and standards of practice.
This role involves executing cardiac rehabilitation protocols as prescribed by the physician, ensuring optimal recovery for patients.
The nurse will implement care plans, which include administering medications, collecting specimens, and providing clinical treatments, alongside other necessary medical interventions.
Documentation of all patient care activities is essential.
Monitoring, recording, and effectively communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and their families is a critical responsibility.
Assisting patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility is also part of the role.
Collaboration across various disciplines is required to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
Evaluating the educational needs of patients and their families and providing tailored education based on age, culture, and specific circumstances is crucial.
The nurse will advocate for the physical and emotional health of patients.
This position reports directly to the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Additional Responsibilities May Include:
- Performing other assigned duties.
- Occasionally fulfilling the roles of CNA, MA, or LPN as needed.
- Participating in staff meetings, in-service training, projects, and committees as assigned.
- Adhering to the policies and procedures of the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System.
- Working scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.
- Accepting on-call duties as directed.
- Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with the dress code.
Minimum Education Requirements:
An Associate's degree is required.
Required Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential.
The ability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions is necessary.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Licensure:
Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee is mandatory.
