Role Summary:
This position is accountable for executing complex audit tasks within the Global Corporate and Investment Banking sector.
The primary responsibilities encompass the independent design and execution of audit evaluations, determining business impact, and providing recommendations on issue severity. Additionally, establishing collaborative relationships with business partners is crucial.
Expectations for this role include assessing the control framework, promoting an inclusive workplace, leveraging product and technical knowledge, and aiding in the development of team members.
This role is part of the audit team focusing on Global Corporate and Investment Banking.Our audits encompass various business areas, including equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, and leasing.
The team also oversees audits related to credit risk management and global payment services across regions.The selected candidate will collaborate with teams in various global locations, primarily EMEA and APAC, as most audits are conducted on a global scale.
An Audit Supervisor is expected to manage assigned areas independently and may lead smaller audit projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements audit strategies to ensure effective risk-based auditing, defining audit scopes and programs while utilizing automation and innovative techniques for timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Applies comprehensive knowledge of products and business operations to effectively challenge management and enhance the control environment.
- Evaluates impacts on business processes and controls, providing informed recommendations regarding severity ratings.
- Contributes to the drafting of audit reports and communicates findings to business leaders.
- Facilitates the growth of peers and teams through on-the-job training while fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
- Cultivates relationships with business partners, primarily line management, to enhance business understanding.
- Employs innovative tools to conduct audit activities more efficiently (e.g., testing methodologies).
- Manages multiple projects using technology and analytical techniques to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in internal audit, front office control, compliance, or risk management, with at least 2-3 years in the banking sector.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Global Corporate and Investment Banking operations (e.g., equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, leasing).
- Experience in risk and control identification and assessment.
- Proven experience in mentoring less experienced team members.
