Position Overview:

The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for strategizing, organizing, and supervising all aspects of agency support services and the overall management of these departments. This role encompasses the development, administration, and enhancement of Human Resources, Information Technology, Quality Improvement, Communications, Facilities, and Transportation. The COO ensures that all departmental functions deliver a high standard of service quality to all stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, clients, employees, interns, and volunteers. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the COO anticipates and advises on all relevant matters, including strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train, mentor, and guide employees and leadership on policies and procedures that align with the organization's vision and mission.
  • Engage in the strategic planning process for the agency's future development and growth, ensuring adequate service support for those initiatives. Design support services that align with the agency's objectives and community needs.
  • Oversee the agency's HR functions, ensuring compliance with internal policies as well as applicable laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date HR policies that reflect the organization's culture, values, and mission.
  • Lead the creation, implementation, and upkeep of responsive, people-centered service standards within the organization.
  • Stay informed about national, regional, and local developments and legal or regulatory issues affecting service operations, ensuring the organization adapts and complies with all changes.
  • Guarantee organization-wide adherence to all laws and regulations related to IT, HR, Facilities, Communications, Transportation, and accreditation. Provide support to ensure efficient operations and program compliance as necessary.
  • Facilitate and ensure alignment of systems and excellent communication across all areas of the agency.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience, including Human Resources, preferably in the nonprofit, social service, or related sectors.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field. SHRM-CP or SHRM-CSP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the agency's mission, vision, and values.
  • Proven ability to develop, nurture, and sustain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing competing priorities, demonstrating a high degree of coordination and communication.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and advanced decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage with diverse groups of individuals with patience and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite and experience in configuring HRIS systems.

Salary range maximum is $110,000. This position is office-based, with the potential for one remote day per week.
