Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is accountable for overseeing the nursing department in alignment with Federal, State, and organizational guidelines. This role involves supervising nursing personnel to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements care plans that comply with regulatory standards.
  • Establishes and upholds nursing department protocols.
  • Involved in the recruitment and training processes for nursing staff.
  • Ensures adequate staffing levels and manages scheduling.
  • Monitors nursing service hours and manages supply expenditures.
  • Oversees skilled nursing and rehabilitation service delivery.
  • Fosters a safe environment while addressing resident needs.
  • Engages in the admission and discharge planning processes.
  • Conducts necessary audits and documentation assessments.
  • Participates in quality assurance and operational evaluations.
  • Provides leadership within the facility during the Administrator's absence.
  • Sets and manages objectives for the nursing department.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Texas State Nursing License.
  • A minimum of 3 years in nursing service administration.
  • Familiarity with state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Availability for on-call duties as needed.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and pull/push.
  • Requires good vision and manual dexterity.
  • Operates within a professional office setting.
