Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce. As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.
  • Provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with the student's ability to derive full benefit from the educational program.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, and/or related services staff to plan and implement classroom activities to improve communication skills of students.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and supervisors regarding the accomplishment of therapy goals and needs of the student.
  • Establish control and administer discipline according to the Dripping Springs ISD Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or related field.
  • Valid Texas license as an Assistant in Speech Language Pathology granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • One year of supervised clinical speech-language pathology experience.
Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will work in a fast-paced educational environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress and work with students with physical disabilities.

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will be required to assist in lifting and transferring students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.

The position requires regular district-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned and exposure to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will be required to maintain confidentiality regarding student and coworker information and as required by FERPA.

The position requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
