Position Overview:
The Assistant Culinary Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring that all culinary staff meet the company’s high-quality standards. This position requires active supervision, coaching, and mentoring of kitchen personnel to foster a positive and compliant work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent attendance and will be expected to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Compensation:
This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $19 to $23.

Venue Information:
The Flint River Entertainment Complex, operated by OVG360, hosts a variety of live events, banquets, meetings, trade shows, and concerts, contributing to the cultural landscape of the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all food preparation, ensuring that tasks are delegated effectively among kitchen staff.
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of buffet and beverage stations, ensuring all necessary equipment is in place.
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with kitchen record-keeping, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
  • Prepare ingredients according to established recipes and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to kitchen staff, promoting a collaborative and positive workplace.
  • Ensure that all food safety and quality standards are adhered to during food preparation and service.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Document personnel performance and collaborate with Human Resources on any disciplinary matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with diverse individuals.
  • Experience in training and developing staff to achieve high performance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen setting.
  • Must possess a valid Health Certificate and be Serve Safe certified.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Office.
