About the Role

As a Relationship Banker at General Electric Credit Union, you will play a vital role in fostering strong relationships with our members. Your primary responsibility will be to understand the unique financial needs of our members and provide personalized solutions to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and Direct Members: You will be the first point of contact for members entering the branch, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Financial Needs Assessment: Through consultative conversations, you will uncover members' financial goals and needs, providing tailored solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Product and Service Recommendations: You will advise members on GECU products and services that align with their financial goals, promoting an impactful member experience.
  • Business Development and Account Management: You will be responsible for managing a book of business, consistently meeting sales and service goals through consultative conversations and outbound calls to current and prospective members.
  • Account Maintenance and Transactions: You will perform account maintenance activities, including opening and closing various types of depository accounts, and conduct teller transactions such as transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
  • Cash Handling and Operations: You will be responsible for cash handling activities, including drawer and vault balancing, and perform opening, closing, and other branch servicing duties.
  • Loan Application and Closing: You will facilitate the consumer loan application process, including product recommendation, loan interview, credit report evaluation, and document collection for underwriting and processing.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required, with a college degree preferred. A minimum of two years of customer service experience and one year of experience working in a financial institution or related industry are also required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential, along with good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment and learn multiple computer systems is also required.
