This role will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and testing fire alarm systems across campus buildings, ensuring the highest level of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fire Alarm System Maintenance: Proactively identify and address fire alarm deficiencies and failures, utilizing diagnostic tools and expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Annual Testing and Inspections: Assist in the annual testing of fire alarm systems, including smoke and heat detectors, door hold opens, and smoke exhaust systems, to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Work Order Response: Respond to work order requests in a timely and efficient manner, providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of test results and other relevant data, as per departmental policy.
  • Asset Management: Utilize University assets, including materials, supplies, and tools, in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Vocational diploma in a specific trade or career.
  • Certifications: No specific certification is required, but NICET certification is preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of five years' experience working in a particular craft or multi-craft position.
  • Driver's License: A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET Certification: NICET I, II, or III certification is preferred.
