Position Overview

The WJB Dorn VA Medical Center is actively seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist to provide outpatient care across multiple locations, including Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to Veterans with significant mental health challenges.
  • Utilize expertise in psychopharmacology to address co-morbidity issues prevalent in the Veteran population.
  • Conduct psychosocial therapy, medication management, and group therapy sessions.
  • Focus on supporting Veterans, particularly those transitioning from combat and combat support roles.
Work Schedule

The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with specific scheduling determined by management.

Compensation

Salary potential is up to $240,000 annually.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States. Noncitizens may be considered when qualified citizens are unavailable.

Licensure: A current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license is required for practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.

Education: A degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education is mandatory.

Physical Standards: Applicants must be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of the position.

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
