Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant/HHA to join our team at Colonial Oaks Retirement Community. As a part-time, 2nd shift CNA/HHA, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care and support to residents, including bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, and dressing.
  • Assist with feeding, providing snacks, and transferring residents to and from dining areas as needed.
  • Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned by the nurse.
  • Assist residents with turning, positioning, exercising, transferring, and ambulation as needed.
  • Respond to resident call lights and requests for assistance in a timely manner.
  • Maintain resident rooms, including making beds, changing bed linens, and cleaning bedside tables.
  • Observe and report any changes in residents' appetite, skin condition, or behaviors.
  • Provide emotional support and actively listen to residents to help them develop trust and independence.
  • Document resident and visitor incidents, accidents, complaints, or allegations according to facility policy.
Requirements
  • Certification as a C.N.A. in good standing with the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, function independently, and make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Personal integrity and ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
