Healthcare Intake Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Intake Specialist to coordinate incoming office referrals and verify insurance coverage. This role involves handling incoming calls from patients, family, physicians, and disciplines, ensuring seamless transitions of patients to home care by providing patient education and preparation for home care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to maintain confidentiality of patient information, and ensure compliance with all state, federal, and regulatory referral/intake requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handles and coordinates incoming calls related to patients, physicians, referrals, and agency services
- Verifies primary insurance coverage and communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff
- Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provides patient education and preparation for home care
- Collates and reports referral statistics, including key customer referral trends
