The ideal candidate will utilize their programming expertise and experience to facilitate the effective ingestion, cleansing, transformation, loading, and visualization of large datasets, while also enhancing and maintaining the Sponsor's data lake services, Hadoop ecosystem, and related services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement large-scale data ingestion systems within a Big Data framework.
  • Optimize all phases of the data lifecycle, from initial design to ingestion and final visualization.
  • Develop capabilities for data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and replication/distribution.
  • Create custom solutions/code to ingest and utilize both new and existing data sources.
  • Collaborate with Sponsor development teams to enhance system and application performance.
  • Provide support for the maintenance, optimization, troubleshooting, and configuration of data lake services and the Hadoop environment as required.
  • Organize and maintain documentation to ensure clarity and usability for others.
  • Work alongside teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to innovate more efficient methods.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of programming/development experience in Java.
  • Familiarity with service-oriented design and architectures.
  • Strong capability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • High School Diploma/GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop and its services, especially with large Hadoop clusters.
  • Experience with Nifi flows and deployments.

Clearance Requirements:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use hands for operating a computer and other office machinery.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and office equipment.
  • Ability to position oneself to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in server closets.
