Responsibilities
* Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors
* Facilitate communication needs of the department
* Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system
* Verify lab tests and radiology tests have been ordered and done
* Prepare and comply records in the ICU
* Order supplies for the unit and prepare and complete each patient's chart for necessary forms needed on a daily basis
* Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as the activity does not distract from primary responsibility for dysrhythmia monitoring
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014
* Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current
* Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
* Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred
