Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Co-Generation Engineer I to join our team at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. This is a critical role that requires expertise in the operation and maintenance of complex power plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers, turbine generators, and related auxiliaries.
  • Perform repairs to mechanical, electrical, and distribution systems.
  • Monitor and adjust power factor correction, frequency, and voltage to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate electrical power systems, including the Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) and Emergency Power System.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repair of all power plant equipment and instrumentation.
Requirements
  • Must hold a Massachusetts Third Class or higher grade Stationary Engineer's License.
  • 1-2 years' experience in modern power plant operations.
  • Possess strong knowledge of safety practices around high-pressure, high-voltage systems and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
