Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply scientific principles to identify, prevent, and remediate pulmonary and cardiopulmonary dysfunction
  • Provide and coordinate the delivery of medical gases
  • Administer aerosolized medications
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to maintain natural and artificial airways
  • Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as part of a multidisciplinary code team
  • Perform pulmonary function testing (spirometry, lung volumes, diffusing capacity, MIPS/MEPS, pre/post bronchodilator testing)
  • Perform exercise oximetry testing
  • Provide education of respiratory care procedures and respiratory-related issues to patients and families
  • Provide consultation services and teaching of respiratory-related issues to other providers as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance, daily calibration, and quality control procedures on complex pulmonary function testing equipment
  • Complete documentation of all necessary information related to patient care, treatments administered, and responses to treatment in the electronic medical record
  • Maintain appropriate department records (competencies, certifications, etc.)
Requirements:
  • Current license by the state Board of Respiratory Care
  • RRT - Registration by the N.B.R.C.
  • ACLS course completion (Required during 1st 3-6 months of orientation)
  • 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
Skills and Abilities:
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving expertise

A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers, and staff throughout the department and hospital.

Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
