Job Overview

As a Craft Beer Production Specialist, you will be responsible for executing various functions in alignment with company policies, safety protocols, and industry best practices. Your role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including raw material handling, grain milling, wort production, fermentation oversight, yeast clarification, transfers, finished product monitoring, equipment cleaning, and overall sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform essential production tasks such as daily clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, wort and cider production, raw material management, yeast propagation, fermentation supervision, filtration, and packaging, adhering to the established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure all beer production meets quality standards by meticulously following recipes and procedures set forth by the Brewmaster.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment and workspaces to uphold consistent product quality.
  • Regularly clean and maintain all brewery and production areas, including but not limited to storage areas, fermentation cellars, and utility zones.
  • Make precise adjustments to process controls as needed, including recipe modifications and CIP tailoring.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices diligently.
  • Keep brewing and related documentation organized and complete.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in quality control procedures, including the operation of various measurement tools and yeast calculations.
  • Foster effective communication with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Packaging, and Maintenance.
  • Understand the operation of auxiliary brewery equipment and utilities.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of brewing techniques and beer styles.
  • Participate in promotional events and festivals as a representative of the company.
  • Fulfill all job functions in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct research and present on beer-related topics as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist other departments as required.
  • Perform maintenance on draft systems and troubleshoot issues as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and potential rotations.
  • High school diploma required; formal brewing education is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Basic troubleshooting abilities in a brewing or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. to shoulder height and 110 lbs. to waist height.
  • Capable of moving heavy objects and climbing ladders.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and loud environments.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations.
