Join Our Team as an Oncology Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking an extraordinary Oncology Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at BluePearl Pet Hospital. As a key member of our oncology team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical exams, accurately count vital signs, and monitor patients
  • Understand normal vital and lab parameters and alert doctors when abnormal
  • Perform phlebotomy, place peripheral intravenous catheters, and calculate basic medical math
  • Set up materials for chemotherapy administration, safely dispense and administer oral and SC/IM chemotherapy agents, and check agent calculations and dosages
  • Properly shave and wrap for IV catheters, have knowledge of chemotherapy extravasation, and admit and discharge oncology patients
  • Maintain a solid grasp of common veterinary medical terms and abbreviations, address client concerns, and facilitate incoming calls
  • Have knowledge of tumor types, understand diagnostic work-up protocols, and possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment
  • Remain current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R CPR guidelines and demonstrate proficiency in designated roles
  • Maintain hospital operations, including stocking, cleaning, and day-to-day functions
