Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all unit functions during their shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC directs, assesses, and evaluates nursing care in line with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluations of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
  • Work with experts and other managers to foster a collaborative environment that drives improved outcomes and service.
  • Uphold a patient-centered philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support initiatives to enhance staff engagement and operationalize nursing strategies.
  • Provide input on hiring, training, and staff development. Recommend actions regarding performance evaluations and compliance with personnel policies.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources according to patient care needs.
  • Oversee inventory management and assist with supply and equipment management.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • BLS and ALS certifications required and maintained.
  • EPNC (or PALS) and TNCC or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certifications required within one year of hire.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in the relevant specialty and prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Additional Skills: Completion of Triage First training within one year of hire is required before triage assignment.
