The Quality Technician/Inspector is tasked with verifying that electrical assemblies and components adhere to established quality benchmarks. This position involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and documenting findings to uphold product integrity and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inspection and Testing:
  • Execute comprehensive inspections of electrical assemblies and components utilizing various tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Conduct visual and functional tests to confirm compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Identify and record any defects or discrepancies encountered during inspections.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain precise and thorough records of inspection outcomes, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Prepare and present quality reports, including statistical analyses and trends, to the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation of all quality control procedures.
  1. Quality Control Processes:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality control processes to guarantee consistent product quality.
  • Collaborate with production teams to promptly address and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
  1. Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Stay informed about relevant standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, ISO 9001) and integrate them into quality control practices.
  • Assist in conducting internal and external audits as necessary.
  1. Training and Support:
  • Provide training and support to production personnel regarding quality control protocols and best practices.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing and maintaining quality training programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality control or inspection within an electrical assembly or manufacturing context.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in the use of inspection and testing tools and equipment.
  • Strong comprehension of electrical assembly processes and standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a standing or seated position for extended periods during inspections.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
  • Visual acuity to identify defects and inconsistencies.

Work Environment

  • Primarily situated in a manufacturing or production environment.
