Position Summary: The Accounting Manager is tasked with overseeing financial and tax reporting to the parent organization while ensuring adherence to all regulatory controls, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax functions.
  • Conduct and review account reconciliations to maintain an accurate General Ledger for reliable financial reporting.
  • Supervise the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely submission of financials to HFM (Hyperion Financial Management).
  • Oversee sales and use tax reporting, as well as local income tax processes, while coordinating with corporate tax departments.
  • Lead SOX compliance testing, Internal Audit, External Audit, and Internal Balance Sheet Reviews, ensuring that internal controls are effectively implemented and adhered to.
  • Assist in the monthly forecasting processes to project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.
  • Administer various systems including banking, expense reporting, freight, and credit card management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an accounting firm or a publicly traded company.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications; capable of writing reports and presenting information to diverse audiences.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.
  • Competence in applying logical or scientific principles to a variety of intellectual and practical challenges.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular use of hands for tasks such as handling and feeling, as well as effective communication skills. The employee may frequently walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Attributes: A keen attention to detail and a strong desire to implement checks and balances are essential. The ability to adapt to various personalities and gain buy-in from the organization and team is crucial, as controls may not always be appreciated by departments outside of accounting.

Compensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is between $100K and $120K annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, location, credentials, and internal equity.
