Position Overview:

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician role at our Verdigris Plant is a critical safety-sensitive position responsible for the secure installation, operation, and upkeep of instrumentation, automation systems, and electrical distribution frameworks.

This position requires proactive problem-solving to ensure uninterrupted plant operations. You will report directly to the Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor and collaborate with the I&E team on-site.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to safety protocols and engage in safety initiatives.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair a range of electronic instruments and control systems throughout the facility.
  • Enhance safety and operational efficiency by optimizing control loops and maintaining valves and actuators.
  • Install and maintain electrical systems and motors, managing voltages up to 4160 VAC.
  • Contribute to HAZOPs, change management, and procurement processes for I&E infrastructure maintenance and design.
  • Assist in the implementation and documentation of various projects across the plant.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED; post-secondary technical education in Instrumentation is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with HART instrumentation, DCS, and BMS is advantageous.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving valves, controls, and various equipment.
  • Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures, vibrations, and limited ventilation.
  • Experience with noise, moving parts, electrical currents, steam, and working at heights.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals, fumes, and oils.
  • Ability to use a respirator and emergency equipment during critical situations.
