Role Summary:
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the exceptional reliability of our plant's instrumentation and control systems. Your duties will encompass providing technical guidance and support for process instrumentation across all facilities. Furthermore, you will formulate preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for the site's instrumentation and analyzer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Exemplify and mentor safety protocols, reinforcing plant safety initiatives.
- Training and Development: Design training programs for I/E technician teams throughout all plant sectors.
- Maintenance Programs: Establish preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation and analyzers utilizing CMMS and process control network data.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and rectify malfunctioning controls and instrumentation, providing assistance to I/E technicians.
- Control Strategies: Execute both basic and advanced control strategies to address plant control challenges.
- Coordination: Leverage DCS configuration tools and instrumentation expertise to resolve intricate plant issues through collaboration with operations, plant engineers, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology (preferred fields include Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Computer/Electronics Engineering).
- Experience: A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience.
- Industry Expertise: At least five years of experience in instrumentation and controls within a Refinery or Chemical environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient understanding of controls engineering principles and control systems.
- Competencies: Expertise in Industrial Instrumentation, including Industrial Analyzers, Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Safety Instrumented Systems.
- DCS/PLC Configuration: Familiarity with DCS/PLC configuration; experience with Yokogawa DCS and/or Allen Bradley PLC is a plus.
