Avionics Development Engineer

At Blue Origin, we are pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Development Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design avionics assemblies for various spaceflight systems, including system definition, hardware design, and test.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development of next-generation avionics that support the New Glenn vehicle.
  • Drive the qualification and approvals for devices, working closely with electrical, systems, and software developers.
  • Assist the avionics architecture team with systems trades and development/testing proofs of concept.

Requirements:

  • BS in aerospace, electrical, or computer engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of rapid development of microcontroller-based systems.
  • Experience with requirements development, verification, and tracking.
  • Experience with circuit development, test, and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate degree in an appropriate engineering field.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS.
  • Launch vehicle avionics integration experience.
  • Experience with GPS and inertial navigation systems, computing/processing system development, networking, power conditioning and distribution, instrumentation, and valve/motor control.
  • 2+ years of experience with avionics or electrical systems design.
