Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager serves as a technical sales representative based in the Carol Stream, IL area. This role involves engaging with designated markets and clients to advocate for a range of plant services, with a primary focus on laser engraving and consumer product sales throughout the Midwest region. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new business opportunities and fostering strong consultative relationships with current clients.
  • Responding to customer requests for quotes (RFQs).
  • Proactively managing all quoting opportunities within the SAP system.
  • Promoting the comprehensive services offered by Standex Engraving, including Chemical, Laser, and Tool Finishing.
  • Providing technical assistance and solutions to customers regarding tooling and molded parts.
  • Overseeing the details of upcoming projects to ensure tools are prepared for the texturing process upon arrival.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely communication of information.
  • Engaging in additional activities as required to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sales/marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in laser sales and consumer goods, or a comparable technical and/or sales position.
  • At least 3 years of experience within the automotive sector, tool/mold shops, or texturing.
  • Willingness to travel locally (approximately 25-35%).
