The Business Development Manager serves as a technical sales representative based in the Carol Stream, IL area. This role involves engaging with designated markets and clients to advocate for a range of plant services, with a primary focus on laser engraving and consumer product sales throughout the Midwest region. Responsibilities include:
- Identifying new business opportunities and fostering strong consultative relationships with current clients.
- Responding to customer requests for quotes (RFQs).
- Proactively managing all quoting opportunities within the SAP system.
- Promoting the comprehensive services offered by Standex Engraving, including Chemical, Laser, and Tool Finishing.
- Providing technical assistance and solutions to customers regarding tooling and molded parts.
- Overseeing the details of upcoming projects to ensure tools are prepared for the texturing process upon arrival.
- Ensuring accurate and timely communication of information.
- Engaging in additional activities as required to support departmental objectives.
What You Bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sales/marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in laser sales and consumer goods, or a comparable technical and/or sales position.
- At least 3 years of experience within the automotive sector, tool/mold shops, or texturing.
- Willingness to travel locally (approximately 25-35%).
