Position Overview:

The Electrical Engineer I within our training center is tasked with the creation, execution, and delivery of technical training programs tailored for internal service field engineers (FSEs), service vendor partners, and customers. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all participants acquire a thorough understanding of Sungrow products, encompassing installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance protocols. The Trainer will also assess the effectiveness of training, evaluate the performance of FSEs, and implement necessary modifications to enhance training results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design detailed training materials, including manuals, presentations, practical exercises, and assessments tailored to various audience levels.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering technical service teams to collect precise technical information, ensuring training materials are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Revise and improve existing training programs to align with new product innovations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Facilitate training sessions for internal field service engineers, service vendor partners, and customers, utilizing both in-person and virtual platforms.
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques to promote engagement and effective knowledge transfer, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, and group discussions.
  • Coordinate with R&D engineering teams for the creation of technical documents for training purposes.
  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate training effectiveness and participants' understanding of the material.
  • Establish evaluation methods to certify internal field service engineers and service vendor partners.
  • Organize and lead customer visits and product introductions at Sungrow facilities.
  • Collect feedback from participants through surveys and evaluations to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Analyze assessment outcomes and feedback to refine training programs and materials.
  • Act as a technical resource for internal field service engineers, service vendor partners, and customers, providing expertise and troubleshooting support as needed.
  • Prepare and present reports on training activities, outcomes, and areas for improvement to management.
  • Engage in professional development activities, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences, to continuously improve training skills and technical knowledge.
  • Provide training on various safety-related topics and assist with repair activities in the Engineering Service center.
  • Support the development of technical proposals and offer insights on the technical content and effort required for proposed scopes of work.
  • Assist with data analysis and visualization software development when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, renewable energy, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in training, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of solar inverter technologies and their applications.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Capability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in training software and virtual training platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical and construction site safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of Electrical Safety Standards.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Technical degree with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the solar industry, battery industry, or power electronics is essential.

  • System and product-level mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Service-oriented focus with a strong emphasis on technical support for both the sales team and customers.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as R or Python is a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% to 30% travel may be required.

Work Location:

  • This is a full-time position based in Texas, on-site.
