Your Role:We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to complete new system installations and assist our customers by resolving technical problems. The implementation team will consult with customers regarding pre- and post-installation problems by working closely with design engineers in evaluating the product performance of the equipment/system and acceptance testing during system assembly and installation.
Key Responsibilities:- Review customer equipment interface requirements to ensure systems are installed appropriately.
- Travel to customer sites to complete new system installations and repair customer systems.
- Conduct and coordinate start-up, cut-over, and check-out activities on newly installed systems.
- Provide hardware and software troubleshooting for customer powertrain test equipment on the production floor.
- Maintain communication with management and provide timely status updates.
- Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as completing Field Activity Reports and other records.
- Represent the company to the customer in a professional manner and assume accountability for customer satisfaction.
- Participate in departmental continuous improvement activities and seek room for improvement.
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
- Prioritize personal growth and development by attending company-provided trainings and seminars.
- Exhibit the honmono spirit daily and in all interactions with customers and peers.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources.
- Learns about ADT products and services and keeps up to date on any enhancements.
- Mentors and trains members of the team.
- Conducts technical seminars, training, and informal on-the-job training for the implementation team.
- Completes activities for Assembly, Service, Factory Test, Commissioning, and Facilities as needed.
- May be the lead in any of these areas at any time as assigned by the Team Lead.
- Lists customer needs to identify potential sales opportunities and contacts the ADT Sales Manager with any leads and information.
- Electronics training equivalent to two years of technical trade school or military school and extensive field service activity.
- 5+ years of experience with panel assembly and troubleshooting, with Dynos knowledge preferred.
- Proficient use of tools and test equipment.
- Self-starter with strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to think and act in a logical and methodical way.
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel and be able to utilize computer-based tools for reports, email, and general communication.
- Ability to operate remotely from the main office with minimum supervision.
- Travel up to 50% of the time as required by business needs.
- A working knowledge of engine dyno cells.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work as a part of a team.
