About the Role

Salt Lake County is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Public Works Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing infrastructure projects that benefit our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and estimates for infrastructure projects
  • Direct the technical work of technicians and engineering interns
  • Act as construction engineer and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Assist in the development of master plans and prepare feasibility and evaluation reports for engineering, construction, and transportation projects
  • Manage and review consultant projects to ensure feasibility and compliance with County standards
  • Coordinate with other County divisions, government agencies, and stakeholders to discuss projects and programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Utah or ability to obtain within six months of employment
  • Minimum of three years of work experience as a professional engineer with progressive additional responsibility
