We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Hardin Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting issues.
Key Responsibilities- Approve new medical equipment by conducting thorough tests and ensuring adherence to regulatory codes and manufacturer instructions.
- Install and maintain medical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
- Direct biomedical equipment operation by providing training and instruction to healthcare staff on the use and care of equipment.
- Evaluate proposed medical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations to ensure optimal performance.
- Improve biomedical equipment performance by studying machine-patient interaction, conferring with equipment users, and developing modifications.
- Maintain biomedical equipment supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, and placing orders.
- Prepare biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe and healthy working environment by conducting safety tests and recommending procedures.
- High School graduate or equivalent required with some vocational or trade school courses preferred.
- One (1) year experience in building trade or maintenance mechanic required.
- Biomedical equipment technician certification required.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 150 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergency and/or crisis situations.
- Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests.
The Biomedical Equipment Specialist will work in an inside and outside environment with exposure to changes in temperatures, fumes, and mechanical hazards. The ability to see with corrective eye wear and hear clearly with assistance is required. The position may require wearing protective equipment as necessary.
