Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team at Plasman Precision Parts LLC. This role will provide technical expertise to support production activities within our operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, robotics, and mechanical systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing production automation and secondary equipment. Strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on approach, and excellent communication skills are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Repair and troubleshoot production automation and secondary equipment, including lugging machines and lugging operations.
  2. Diagnose causes and implement long-term corrective action, make necessary repairs, verify effectiveness, and collect necessary data.
  3. Perform set-ups and changeovers of automated equipment in production as required.
  4. Perform safety checks of automated equipment.
  5. Assist in training other automation technicians.

Requirements:

  1. A two-year degree in Automation/Robotics or a combination of automation experience/training.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in an automation or production field.
  3. Strong mechanical work experience, preferably in the assembly and disassembly of mechanical mechanisms.
  4. Automated machine maintenance and electrical controls design experience.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Thorough understanding of automated valves, shaft alignment, balancing, and vibration and linear drives.
  2. Blueprint interpretation and understanding of measuring equipment, Metrology, and GD&T principles.
  3. Reporting and scheduling procedures and automation controls layout design.
  4. Servo systems understanding and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  5. Safety systems and guarding design, build, and wiring.
  6. Experience in using Omron PLCs and HMIs.

Working Environment:

  1. Indoor production/manufacturing environment consisting of plastic injection molding machines and automation equipment.
  2. Automation fabrication shop/office.
  3. Heated and cooled production environment.
