Job Description

Clean and maintain patient and non-patient areas according to standardized procedures by utilizing mechanical equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies. Set up conference rooms and private dining rooms for various meetings and gatherings, observing safety rules. Keep equipment clean and in good condition.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare cleaning solutions, housekeeping supplies, and equipment to perform housekeeping tasks.
  • Dust and clean furniture, windowsills, light fixtures, vents, and other areas that accumulate dust and soil.
  • Clean bathrooms, fixtures, pipes, tile walls, metals, and replenish soap and paper supplies as needed.
  • Disinfect rooms, beds, patient furniture, and equipment with germicidal solution.
  • Hang and remove cubicle curtains, drapes, shades, and blinds, and move furniture and equipment.
  • Spot clean windows, walls, and carpets, and vacuum carpet and upholstered furniture.
  • Clean or remove spills observed or upon request.
  • Follow established procedures in performing all tasks.
  • Use various equipment while performing assigned tasks.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and clean all equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards.
  • Follow standard practices for storing, issuing, labeling of chemicals.
  • Properly dispose of all regular, recyclable, sharp items, and regulated medical waste, wearing proper protective attire and observing safety rules and practices.
  • Report all safety hazards, leaky pipes, and broken furniture, blinds, etc.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in institutional cleaning preferred
