Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiology Tech Extender II to join our team at University Hospitals. This role will provide support and assistance to the Radiologic Technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Radiologic Technologist in completing basic patient assessments, including verifying patient orders and completing patient questionnaires.
  • Provide communication with other members of the healthcare team to help coordinate patient care.
  • Facilitate patient care, including lifting, transporting, chaperoning, and monitoring patients.
  • Assist with Radiology computer information and data entry, including the PACS system.
  • Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies, including ordering and stocking patient care supply items.
  • Follow hospital initiatives to meet patient satisfaction goals.
  • Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent/GED (Required)
  • Current Student of Radiologic Technology Program (Required)
  • Basic patient care skills (Required proficiency)
  • Able to communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population across multiple generations (Required proficiency)
  • Able to organize and adjust to changing workflow and patient care needs (Required proficiency)
  • Good communication skills (Required proficiency)
  • Patient care equipment specific to assigned population; telephone; nurse call system; pager, computers (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of PAC system and electronic health records (Required proficiency)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire (Required)
