Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to join our team at Beacon Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our pharmacy services, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed in accordance with the objectives of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure goals and objectives are met.
  • Assist in developing the Department's annual operating budget.
  • Screen, interview, hire, evaluate job performance, coach, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Recommending operational/procedural changes as indicated.
  • Interpreting, enforcing, and supporting the terms and conditions of the Union bargaining agreement.
  • Representing the department in meetings.
  • Ensuring quality assurance of pharmacy products and services by specifying quality and source of pharmaceutical products and equipment.
  • Reviewing expense reports, monitoring budget performance, and auditing the use of targeted pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensuring financial accuracy by managing and reconciling pharmacy transactions, monitoring billing and payment processes, and auditing procedures to maintain precise and compliant financial records.
  • Assuring pharmaceutical services are current with new developments and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and accrediting standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Increasing levels of responsibility in a healthcare setting, with previous management experience being preferred.
  • Must hold a professional license with the capability of handling medications or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Demonstrates a high-level technical skills/knowledge of standard operating procedures for the management and provision of pharmacy services and a comprehensive knowledge of federal and state standards and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.
  • Demonstrates leadership/management skills necessary to elicit cooperation and support from others.
  • Requires organizational and analytical skills necessary to develop, evaluate, and administer policies and procedures, assist in budget development, and maintain staffing levels.
  • Demonstrates the interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
Working Conditions

Works in an office environment. Occasional exposure to potentially hazardous materials.

Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
