About the Job

Schob Steel Services is seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of Journeyman Ironworker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the erection and installation of metal and steel structures, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the construction of primary and secondary steel structures
  • Install single skin wall panels, insulated metal wall panels, standing seam roofs, metal deck, and similar
  • Unload material and organize shakeout
  • Follow all OSHA 1926 and Schwob Steel Structures safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with the project superintendent/foreman
  • Participate in all safety and quality training programs
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • 2+ years of experience in ironwork or steelwork for metal building erection
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Certified Reach Forklift Operator and/or Aerial Work Platform Operator preferred
  • Qualified rigger/signal person preferred
  • Must have experience with walking 3-plate rafters, Landing Z purlins, built-in panels
  • Must have experience making up Z purlin laps
  • Must have experience connecting flange braces
  • Must have your own own tools
  • Ability to read manufacturer's drawings
  • Must be comfortable with aerial work and heights feet (must not be afraid of heights)
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship needs
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs heights of feet, lift 50lb+ materials, and handle long hours of strenuous work during hot and cold weather
