Journeyman Ironworker Job Description

Schob Steel Services is seeking skilled Journeyman Ironworkers to join our team in the Metal/Steel Building Construction industry. As a Journeyman Ironworker, you will be responsible for erecting and installing metal/steel beams and structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Erect and install metal/steel beams and structures
  • Assist in unloading material and material shakeout/organization
  • Follow all OSHA 1926 and Schwob Steel Structures safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with the project superintendent/foreman
  • Participate in all safety and quality training programs
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in ironwork or steelwork for metal building erection
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Certified Reach Forklift Operator and/or Aerial Work Platform Operator preferred
  • Qualified rigger/signal person preferred
  • Must have experience with walking 3-plate rafters, Landing Z purlins, built-in panels
  • Must have experience making up Z purlin laps
  • Must have experience connecting flange braces
  • Must have your own tools
  • Ability to read manufacturer's drawings
  • Must be comfortable with aerial work and heights
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship needs
