Senior Gameplay Engineer for Multiplayer Game Development

Job Summary


The Molasses Flood, a CD Projekt game development studio, is seeking a seasoned Senior to Principal Gameplay Engineer to contribute to the development of our latest project, a new multiplayer title set within the world of The Witcher. This critical role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement engaging gameplay systems that bring the game world to life, focusing on areas such as inventory management, abilities, contracts, crafting, combat encounters, and dynamic world interactions.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement robust gameplay systems in a multiplayer environment, leveraging C++ and Blueprints.
  • Design and build developer-friendly systems that allow design and narrative teams to rapidly create and iterate on content.
  • Ensure game performance standards across areas of system ownership for all target platforms.
  • Adhere to the team's code quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve the overall vision of the game.
  • Mentor junior members of the engineering team.

Requirements



  • Proven experience in creating engaging and innovative gameplay systems in 3rd person, multiplayer games.
  • Strong understanding of core gameplay concepts such as camera behaviors, state machines, character movement systems, animations, and controls accessibility.
  • Extensive knowledge of current game titles and visual arts to inform original ideas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, art, narrative, and production teams.
  • US work permit or citizenship, or Canadian citizenship.
  • Curiosity, kindness, and a professional attitude.

  • Unreal Engine 5 experience.
