Job Title: Production Test Technician

AS&E, an OSI Systems Company, is seeking a skilled Production Test Technician to join our team based in Billerica, MA. As a trusted provider of advanced X-ray technologies, we are committed to delivering best-in-class cargo and vehicle screening systems and services to our customers worldwide.

Job Summary:

The Production Test Technician will play a critical role in the testing and control of various components, subassemblies, and assembled goods related to the production of X-ray based Inspection systems. This includes calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving relevant processes to achieve team objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Work with electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical test fixtures, and use experience and learning to assist in future design.
  • Execute tests according to specifications, methods, and procedures from prints, drawings, and diagrams, and use experience and learning to assist in future development.
  • Test and troubleshoot components, assemblies, and/or final systems, and complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems, including mathematical manipulation of data into results and analysis.
  • Access and use software tools to follow work instructions, investigate Bills of Material, review specifications, review ECOs, and execute the job successfully.
  • Assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
  • Use knowledge and experience to work with New Product Introduction on the best way to deploy testing technology and practices for future products.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

  • Report quality problems or defects to management to implement corrective action and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree or other 2-year technical diploma preferred.
  • 5+ years of military training and experience testing and troubleshooting large military platforms, or 5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting large capital equipment, completing disassembly and reassembly as a result of testing.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, and Digital Multi-meters, and ability to install and configure computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Knowledge of common hand tools, industry nomenclatures, and strong assembly skills.
  • Self-starter with initiative to improve the job and related processes.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, ERP, and work instruction type software.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standard a plus.
