Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical prototypes and production units. Your expertise will be utilized in the full electrical design cycle, from concept and design to schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, system integration, and manufacturing release.

You will work with various technologies, including microprocessors/microcontrollers, FPGAs, analog circuitry, audio/video data compression and encryption, fiber optic-based networks (803.3), wireless networks (802.11), and LED lighting systems. Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Conducting design validation and testing, including highly accelerated life testing and environmental qualification testing
  • Producing and maintaining detailed technical documentation
  • Potentially taking on a lead role for specific projects following departmental processes and standards
  • Conceiving, researching, and implementing design changes aimed at improving manufacturability

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Mid-to-senior level experience in hardware engineering and electrical design
  • Experience in digital or analog design
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB routing software (e.g., OrCAD/Allegro PCB Designer)
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers
  • Knowledge of FAA and/or Milspec requirements
  • Proficiency in FPGA design tools
  • Experience with Ethernet and electro-optical design
  • Familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs and associated toolsets
