Job Title: Biostatistical Consultant III, Psychiatry, Mood Disorders

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Biostatistical Consultant III to join our team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a Biostatistical Consultant III, you will work closely with investigators to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining statistical programs, collaborating with researchers on grant development, and providing statistical consultation to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with investigators to identify problems and provide statistical consultation, including design of experiments, analysis of data, interpretation of results, and preparation of reports.
  • Write the statistical portion of manuscripts based on results of analysis and address manuscript revisions based on reviewer's comments.
  • Assist clients with data organization, perform statistical computations, and provide graphical and tabular representations.
  • Develop, maintain, and modify programs for in-house use.
  • Collaborate with investigators in grant development, including statistical design of studies and preparation of statistical portion of grant proposal.
  • Perform non-statistical components of consulting, such as providing analogous examples and explanations using non-technical terminology and helping researchers formulate and clarify research issues.
  • Visit client work field whenever possible to establish rapport and become familiar with and interested in client's research and data.
  • Keep current in statistical methods and computing skills, research new techniques for non-standard statistical analyses, and supervise biostatistical consultants and/or data entry operators as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in biostatistics or related discipline, or MPH with a concentration in biostatistics.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in statistical consulting, with preference given to experience working in biomedical or healthcare environment.
  • Working knowledge of SAS, SPSS, or other major statistical package (S+, R, etc.) and Microsoft Office (ACCESS and EXCEL).
