As a Medical Assistant - Surgical, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of surgical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to prepare operating rooms, maintain sterile fields, and assist with patient positioning as needed.

We estimate that the annual salary for this position is around $64,000, based on industry standards and location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain sterile field during surgical procedures
  • Prepare operating rooms and assist with patient positioning as needed
  • Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and supplies
  • Perform accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program (CST)
  • NYS LPN also acceptable
  • 1 to 3 years of scrubbing experience preferred
